Academic, practical, multilingual training
The articulation between theory and practice is at the center of your training . You learn how to develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge of children taking into account their individual and cultural resources. You learn how to set up and manage varied and differentiated learning situations on the basis of a theoretical framework. During your training, you are required to modulate your own learning path by carrying out various individual and collective projects in school and out-of-school contexts. The Sciences de L'Éducation programme is delivered by University of Luxembourg.
You will work in teams with other teachers, school committees and administrative officers, and you will collaborate with parents. Learning how to work as a team is therefore a central element of your academic curriculum.
The Bachelor's Degree in Education Science trains teachers of tomorrow capable of working in plurilingual and multicultural environments . As a student, you must be fluent in the languages of Luxembourg, Germany, France and England. A multilingual approach is vital for the work of a future teacher in the Luxembourg context. The teaching is multilingual: the language of work and the language of lectures are defined by the teacher.
The Bachelor of Science in Education prepares for a career in teaching in basic schools, modular education classes and institutions of differentiated education in Luxembourg. You can also continue your studies by completing a Master's Degree in Educational Sciences.
The Bachelor's Degree in Educational Sciences is a four-year program (8 semesters of complete studies, including 1 compulsory semester in a foreign university). To obtain the BA degree in Education Sciences, you must validate at least 240 credits.
During the first two semesters, you take compulsory courses, often in the form of lectures.
From the 5th semester, lectures are increasingly being replaced by seminars. You can modulate your own learning path by choosing a part of your courses and seminars yourself and working autonomously around the projects carried out in the LLW workshops. For some courses, a tutoring system is established.
During each semester - except during your mobility semester - you must complete an internship. You learn to develop and implement your own interventions as a teacher taking into consideration the individual resources and socio-cultural background of the students.
