The industry offers diverse and dynamic opportunities to graduates, ranging from professional sports to managing events and corporate sponsorships.

The Sports Management BA at EU Business School is a six-semester program designed to prepare students for a variety of exciting careers. Growth in professional sports, recreation, corporate fitness, private health clubs and constant media exposure make sports management a diverse and dynamic field. The program combines knowledge of physical education with business and management courses, based upon a foundation of real-world case studies.

Learning Objectives

  • Show an appreciation of global sports issues and analyze how they relate to and impact the international market.
  • Learn to recognize, analyze and evaluate the role of major players, structures and processes in business and sports.

Employability

The sports market is expanding in countries which are experiencing strong economic growth, such as China, Russia, Brazil and India, as well as other Asian, African, Middle Eastern and Latin American countries.

Important international sporting events are taking place worldwide. Examples include the Rio de Janeiro and Sochi Olympic Games and the Football World Cup in Brazil, Russia and Qatar.

The sports market is often identified through its media and commercial activities. It is breaking ground through the incorporation of various sectors into areas of the business world:

English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score: 6

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. The minimum IELTS score requirement refers to which Overall Band Score you received, which is your combined average score. Read more about IELTS.

  • Minimum required score (Grade C): 180

    The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

  • Minimum required score: 80

    The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

All applicants should submit the following documents in order to complete the application process:

  • 1 completed application form (if the application was not filled in online)
  • 1 certified copy of your high school diploma and transcripts*
  • Proof of English level: TOEFL score 80 (internet-based), 213 (computer-based); IELTS 6.0; CAE C; PTE 57
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • 1 written or video essay*
  • An electronic passport photo or 3 printed passport-size photos
  • 1 copy of valid passport or ID car
  • 1 bank certificate or letter certifying the applicant's financial solvency
  • €/CHF 200 non-refundable application fee. Please attach a money order, check or receipt for a bank transfer payable to EU
