About

History

  • 1827:St John’s Sunday School founded. At the time, Sunday schools were the only way most of the population could get an education. Our St John’s Campus now stands on the site of the Sunday school.
  • 1910:Harpurhey Baths opens. The restored, repurposed site is now a Grade II Listed Building and part of our North Manchester Sixth Form.

Education

We offer programmes for unemployed people and those not in education, employment or training (NEET), and through the school leavers award we provide financial support for some young people. Our priority skills programmes ensure that learners achieve the skills required to progress into employment.

Career

We are one of the largest organisations of our kind in Europe. We have around 5,000 employees working across more than 20 locations providing learning and skills to over 80,000 learners and 3,000 employers across the UK.

Our student support teams are here to advise you on issues inside and outside college.

The international office are here to advise and support you as an international student at The Manchester College.

Housing services

Manchester is home to over 100,000 students which means there is no shortage of options when it comes to student accommodation. The Manchester College does not have its own accommodation nor does it provide homestay directly but we can refer you to suitable providers of accommodation and accommodation advice.

The Manchester College work with two accommodation providers:

Medical services

You can receive emergency medical treatment at any time.

Students who will be on courses longer than six months should register with a GP as soon as possible after arrival.

The Emergency Services (Police, Ambulance, Fire Service) can be contacted by calling 999. This number should only be used in an emergency.
