Business Academy Aarhus develops and offers practice-orientated higher education programmes. It was founded on 1 January 2009 and like the other universities, we provide both undergraduate programmes and can grant academic degrees, but we do not award master's or doctoral degrees.

History

Business Academy Aarhus was founded on 1 January 2009.

Education

In several European countries, this is an English-language term for institutions of higher education. The degree programmes we offer focus on applied degrees, especially in technology, IT and business.

Like universities, we provide both undergraduate programmes and can grant academic degrees, but we do not award master's or doctoral degrees.

In addition to this we also offer continuing education and part-time programmes at bachelor’s level and short-term courses for people who need to strengthen their qualifications on the job (only in Danish).

The Career Centre at Business Academy Aarhus can act as a source of inspiration and help you implement what you what you would like to do for your internship and your career.

We offer both individual consultancy sessions and courses for groups of students. The goal is to provide you with the inspiration and tools you need to apply for an internship or your first postgraduate job.

Services

Student services

Most of Business Academy Aarhus’s programmes are offered in both Danish and English. As a student at the Academy, you will therefore be part of an international environment. We have around 1000 international students from many places around the world.

If you choose one of the programmes taught in English, you will study with students from different countries and the tuition and the exams are in English. Internationalisation not only takes place in the classrooms, but also in the many social activities we offer.

Housing services

As an exchange student at Business Academy Aarhus you will be offered housing. We do not offer on-campus accommodation; instead we have access to a number of rooms in dormitories/hall of residences (kollegier) in various parts of Aarhus. These rooms are all furnished with access to a kitchen, toilet and bathroom facilities. Many Danish and international students from various educational institutions throughout Aarhus live in dormitories.

If you choose to decline your offer of housing, or you do not respond to the housing offer within the deadline stated in the offer, it will be your responsibility to find your own housing.

Business Academy Aarhus offers all students the opportunity to participate in different sports through the Business Academy Aarhus Sports Club. It doesn’t matter what programme you study, or where you're from. What matters is that you like sports and you think that doing them together with other students would be great fun.

Student clubs

Studenterhus Aarhus is a lively meeting place for both Danish and international students.

You get to enjoy discounts on tickets for local or international concerts and events organised throughout the year; 50% off for selected events in Musikhuset Aarhus and up to DKK 40 discount for selected films in Bio City and Metropol cinemas.

Studenterhus Aarhus has a cafe and a bar that operates during the semesters. The cafe also offers a place for you to hold your study group meetings or projects. On Tuesdays they arrange “International Nights” which is the perfect opportunity for you to mingle with other international and Danish students from all around Aarhus.

Accreditation

  • Business Academy Aarhus is approved and accredited by the Danish state. The Danish accreditation system is based on the 2007 Act on the Accreditation Agency for Higher Education.
  • All programmes at BAAA are accredited by the Danish Evaluation Institute. Furthermore, all programmes at BAAA are described according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
