Anglia Ruskinís story starts in 1858, when the art critic, patron and philanthropist John Ruskin opened Cambridge School of Art. The art school grew to become Anglia Ruskin University, and itís still at the heart of our modern-day campus in Cambridge.

Housing services

If you're joining us as a first year undergraduate, you'll be able to choose from a range of halls and houses in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. After your first year at Anglia Ruskin, you'll probably be looking to rent with friends. Either way, our Residential Service Team can help you find the perfect place to live.

Library services

We've made sure that our campus libraries are packed full of the equipment and resources you need.

Our friendly and expert ARU library staff are always on hand to offer guidance and support. We have a team of subject librarians who not only provide a comprehensive programme of study and information skills training, they also work closely with our tutors and tailor services to meet your needs.

ICT services

During semesters, our campus libraries in Cambridge and Chelmsford stay open 24 hours, four days per week, and in each library youíll find a significant collection of course-relevant materials. There are plenty of study spaces, including group work zones, silent study areas, multimedia playback, networked PCs, wireless connectivity, and standard IT applications.

Medical services

During the semester a Medical Centre with an NHS GP surgery is available for all our students at both campuses.

Four main campuses

As well as Cambridge, we have campuses in Chelmsford, London and Peterborough. Our Chelmsford campus was originally in the city centre but moved to a new, purpose-built site in 1992. Today, youíll find our striking, modern buildings nestled by the river in the cityís University and Innovation Quarter. Meanwhile, our campus at Guild House, Peterborough opened in 2011. Itís a dedicated healthcare site where we train many of our regionís nurses and healthcare professionals.

Whether you have aspirations of making the next Olympics, representing our university in an existing sport, trying a new sport or taking part in more relaxed fitness activities, Anglia Ruskin University has something for you - all you need to do is come along and give something a try!

The Global Study Awards

Together with the ISIC Association and British Council IELTS, StudyPortals offers you the chance to receive up to £10000 to expand your horizon and study abroad. We want to ultimately encourage you to study abroad in order to experience and explore new countries, cultures and languages.
