We have organised our strongest research environments into research groups and research centres that reflect our commercial profile and practical approach to research.
USN has particularly strong regional ties and a focus on applied research. All our programmes are research-based, and students are involved in research projects from the early stages of their education.
The student counselling is for students who needs to talk about personal or study-related problems.
We offer general counselling, individual conversations, information about rights and to help you come in contact with the right people in the health and social system. The service is free and we have a duty of confidentiality.
If you wish to talk to one of our counselors, you can book time by clicking on their e-mail address below at the institution you are studying and you will receive a reply to your inquiry in a short time.
All campuses provide housing for international students. Our accommodation services are run by the Student Welfare Foundation in Southeast Norway (SSN).
Private rooms, many of them with private bathrooms, and private or shared kitchens are available for all incoming international exchange students, international full degree students as well as local Norwegian students through SSN. In the student houses there is provided Internet access, cable TV and use of laundry services. Please be aware that SSN cannot accommodate several students per room.
The library at USN has branches in Bø, Drammen, Kongsberg, Notodden, Porsgrunn, Rauland, Ringerike and Vestfold. The library is an integral part of the school's activities in education, training, research and commissioned research. USNs library gives you access to more than 50 databases, 125,000 books, 75,000 e-books and 20 million scientific articles from 13,000 journals, most of them in electronic format.
