Erasmus University College (EUC) is the international honours college of Erasmus University, offering intense multi-disciplinary education. Founded in 2013, this Liberal Arts and Sciences College and the student housing are located in metropolitan Rotterdam.
Students at Erasmus University College receive a degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam, which consistently ranks among the best universities in the Netherlands. Erasmus University Rotterdam has been listed among the top 100 universities in the world by Times Higher Education, Quacquarelli Symonds and Financial Times.
Erasmus University College, unlike other Dutch universities, imposes entrance requirements with aptitude tests, interviews and motivation letters being part of the application process.
One thing that truly sets Erasmus University College apart from other universities is its high level of service orientation and student support.
This ranges from a fantastic introduction programme to academic and pastoral mentoring and guidance. EUC employs both a student life officer, to help with the residential and community aspects of college, as well as student counsellors who are there for advice regarding personal matters. The introduction programme makes use of student ‘buddies’ to ensure that peer support is available and that our new students are well integrated to our academic community.
Erasmus University College requires students to live at our city campus during their first year of studies. Living together with your fellow students provides an excellent opportunity to get to know each other well and build solid friendships.
Living together helps with group-work and enhances the overall academic community, which is essential to our philosophy of what makes a great university college. Additionally, living on campus has the benefit of allowing you to immediately focus on your studies considering your housing is already arranged for you. Our students are housed at the modern Student Hotel where you will have your own room and private bathroom but share the kitchen with 5-10 students.
In the city centre of Rotterdam, nestled between the dazzlingly beautiful Markthal and the bustling shopping area, is a dignified city monument on the Nieuwemarkt square, Erasmus University College. The immediate surroundings of the College are brimming with a vibrant mix of both the hip and happening, with plenty of quirky shops and interesting but affordable restaurants and cafés. Only a short bike ride away from the Erasmus University College is The Student Hotel, the residential campus for our first year students. With the bike provided by The Student Hotel our students will also be able to cycle in 10 minutes to either our parent university campus or our facilities.
As a student of Erasmus University you will gain access to the sports complex located at the main campus. The sports complex contains facilities for most sports as well as a gym. There are regular classes you can sign up for and plenty of sports associations for those who would like to participate in a more competitive way.
As a student at Erasmus University College you are a member of the Erasmus University College Student Association (EUCSA). This all-inclusive student association acts as an umbrella organization for a wide range of student run committees, which together offer a great variety of activities and events for their members. Here are some examples: ski trips abroad, sports workshops, regular bar nights, themed parties, improvisation theatre workshops, musical jam sessions, a cultural trip to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, talent shows, a monthly student magazine called ‘The Bug’, board game evenings and much more! Next to EUCSA, students can sign up for one of the many student associations in Rotterdam.
The Erasmus University College is fully accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO). Erasmus University consistently ranks in the top 100 of many global university rankings.
